Rockwell Automation Receives Top Honors in Control Engineering Magazine’s Engineers’ Choice Awards

Rockwell AutomationMILWAUKEE, Feb. 1, 2010 — Readers of Control Engineering magazine selected five Rockwell Automation  products for the publication’s annual Engineers’ Choice Awards.

Rockwell Automation secured more wins than any other supplier, securing top honors for its machine safety, programmable automation controllers, drives and application software. It also won an honorable mention for its dashboard software.

“These awards validate our continued leadership in control and information solutions,” says Steve Eisenbrown, senior vice president, Architecture and Software, Rockwell Automation. “There’s no higher distinction than having our customers and their industry peers recognize our commitment to excellence.”

Rockwell Automation, a perennial winner of these awards, received the most reader votes for the following new products in 2009:

    * Allen-Bradley Guardmaster Minotaur MSR57P dedicated safe-speed monitoring relay – Offers manufacturers increased safety control and functionality through its groundbreaking safe-speed control core technology
    * Allen-Bradley ControlLogix 1756-L63XT programmable automation controller – Targets applications requiring increased reliability in high-temperature and corrosive environments
    * Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 755 AC drive – Meets global user needs for versatile motor control, integration ease and high performance
    * FactoryTalk Historian Machine Edition software – Provides real-time, on-machine data collection, helping manufacturers transform manufacturing intelligence into process improvements

In addition, FactoryTalk VantagePoint software, won an honorable mention as a dashboard software solution. The software provides Web-based dashboards/reports on key performance indicators from multiple manufacturing and business data sources.

For this year’s awards, nearly 600 voters evaluated 96 products based on the following criteria – technological advancement, service to the industry and market impact. Winners are listed in the February 2010 issue of Control Engineeringand online at www.controleng.com.
